Welcome to The Glasgow School of Art, internationally recognised as one of Britain’s foremost higher education institutions for creative education and research. 
 
We are a small, specialist and highly focused international community of artists, designers and architects, undertaking research at the highest levels.  In the UK-wide Research Assessment Exercise 2008, the GSA was ranked as the second largest art and design research community in the UK, with 25% of our research considered to be world leading and a further 25% internationally recognised.
 
As a prospective student, visitor, research partner or supporter of the School, you will engage with these world-leading academics and find the GSA an immensely stimulating place – a creative hothouse where new ideas are always encouraged and developed through learning, teaching and research which is studio based, face to face, professionally relevant and socially engaged.
 
From the heritage of Charles Rennie Mackintosh – alumnus, artist, architect and designer – to today’s students drawn from around the world, the impact of the GSA and its graduates to the social, cultural and economic life of Glasgow, Scotland and beyond is evident.
